You need to keep your promises to yourself.

We all make commitments to ourselves. We say we are going to go to the gym, eat better, work on more personal projects, whatever. Then when the time comes we end up making an excuse. Our day was too long, or we have to get up early the next day, and in the end, it’s just our minds trying to be lazy.

Every time you give in to an excuse, your mind will find ways to come up with more excuses. Your subconscious wants you to stay home and watch Netflix. Why? Because it’s safe.

You have to be accountable for your promises. If you want to be successful at something, you have to force yourself to stick to it. The only way to build a successful habit is to make sure you do it no matter what.

Don’t feel like you have to do it alone, though. It’s perfectly acceptable to find an accountability partner or even an accountability group. For example, Guy is a part of a group on Facebook of 35 people who are all there to help and support each other.

There’s no reason you have to feel like you are doing it alone – but know that you do have to do it if you want the results.

In this episode of Old Souls & Seekers, we explore the ways our subconscious tries to hold us back. Download this episode now and learn what you can do to start training yourself for success.
