The Case Against Instant Gratification: Episode 266 with Guy & Ilan Ferdman

In this week's episode of the Old Souls & Seekers podcast, we are excited to share with you a conversation around instant gratification, how it both prevents people from living their best lives, and how it can be our best teacher as we grow as individuals, in our relationships, and in our inner work.

I feel like the world of patience and mastering something has really fallen by the wayside

Ilan Ferdman

In today’s episode, we want to have a conversation about instant gratification today and how it’s one of the things that truly stop people from ever reaching their potential.

From what we have seen in today's society it's almost like people have forgotten what it takes to achieve mastery and we are all just running around trying to get the next quick fix.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to do things with some sort of expectation, agenda or result. It stops them from achieving mastery

Ilan Ferdman

Look, the truth is that most people are just uncomfortable to start looking at themselves, really looking within.

It’s much easier to blame the circumstance, the other person, etc.

However, in doing that we are not giving ourselves enough patience to be in the experiences of struggle and see it as an opportunity.

How many people give up as soon as a relationship is turning bad and break up with their partner… Only to find out that they end up with the same type of person and problems in the next relationship?

We truly believe that if you want to live your best life, that looking for shortcuts and quick fixes will make you miss the lessons that life is truly trying to teach you and it will take you further away from what you want.

Tune into today's episode to learn how to not only let go of the quick-fix mentality of instant gratification but how you can actually use it as a teacher for your personal growth and your relationships.
