How to set smart goals – Re-write your goals ~ Episode 14

How to make goals achievable? 5 steps:

  1. Specific
  2. Measurable
  3. Achievable
  4. Relevant
  5. Time-bound

We all have New Year’s resolutions. But are they helpful? Do you actually complete the goals you write down at the beginning of the year? Most of us don’t. But why? Goals that push us never end up producing results. The reason we even set goals, is to inspire hope within ourselves to eventually reach our desired outcome, not to push us.

We’re here today to tell you how to reach that outcome, how to make those goals you’ve been writing down all these years, and actually completing them. We’ll tell you how to put aside those feelings of guilt over past goal failure, and help you manifest your true intentions.

The mistakes that we make, are what allow us to grow and learn.

The Cliff Notes:

  • New Year's resolutions are bullshit!
  • The reason setting goals is great is because it is hopeful.
  • The only goals that actually ever work are the ones that pull you.
  • Review your goals from the previous year, while asking yourself “how do I feel when I am looking at these goals?”
  • Always write down your goals!
  • It is impossible to manifest goals when you feel shame and guilt.
  • Ask yourself, what in these goals is triggering an emotional reaction?
  • When you start creating goals you will see experiences occurring that naturally lead you to challenges.
  • Challenges = opportunity.
  • Relinquish yourself from creating expectations of how your experiences will play out.
  • We’re programmed to think that if we are not getting what we want, we must be doing something wrong. This is not true!
  • Think of achieving goals like games: set time limits.
  • When you’re having fun, you get things done!
  • Do not live your life to make other people happy. You need to live to make yourself happy.
  • Make sure you’re writing goals because it is what YOU want.

The universe operates in a way, in which you get what you need, not what you want.
