Distinguish Between Attachment and Commitment | Living a Life of Integrity ~ Episode 11
We often find ourselves attached to things that we are not taking action on to achieve any sort of outcome. It’s an unhealthy and stagnant life cycle we get stuck in from time to time. Most of us confuse “attachment,” and “commitment,” when in reality they are two completely different things. If we create attachments to our commitments, it turns into the cycle above, and that’s when we miss the mark.
It’s time to start reaching new outcomes and creating new possibilities. We often think that by analyzing our goals and thinking through new strategies, we will manifest our desired outcomes. But it takes more than thoughts to get there, it requires communication and action. Listen up as we dive into the how-to’s, the do’s, and the don'ts when it comes to manifesting your goals through commitment. It’s time to ditch all your attachment expectations, and start being productive!
If you find yourself using words like “could have” and “should have,” you’re attached to something.

The Cliff Notes:
- When you create something you want in life, you create an attachment as well.
- The world of commitment has a different essence than the world of attachment.
- Part of the design of being human is that we inherently create problems.
- A problem will naturally call you to act a certain way, based on each unique situation.
- When you take your commitment and attach it to one outcome, experience, or person, you “miss the boat.”
- Attachments set expectations, that do not always match up.
- We live in a universe of infinite possibilities.
- If someone uses the word “figure out,” it means you are immediately trying to solve a problem.
- The design of thinking is just a “recall function.”
- Possibility occurs through communication and actions.
- If you’re upset right now, you’re attached to something.
- Align parts of yourself and your body to begin to feel the positive outcomes.
- When you are willing to empower context, you will take more action.
- The more results you get, the more you believe in yourself.
- One of the best questions to ask yourself is: “What is it I am most committed to?”
- You have to have integrity around the things you are committed to.
- Once you see things written down on paper, it has less of an impact on you.
Sometimes you ask the universe for what you want, but instead, it gives you what you need.
